Sangiovese

Sometimes compared to a chameleon, because it so easily adapts to the environment. Several mutations of the Sangiovese throughout Italy always result in very different wines. Something for everyone, whether you prefer Montefalco Rosso with flowery strawberry aromas, or intense dark tannic wines of Brunello di Montalcino.

The Sangiovese choses the noble Brunello. Can be preserved, for decades - by/for the patient. You can already have a small taste preview by uncorking a ready-to-drink Rosso di Montalcino.

For those who want to profoundly smell wine, the Sangiovese offers quite some variation in smell. Violet, cherry, sour berry and mulberry are current, but in the Romagna Sangiovese you can find mainly plum, rhubarb, licorice and anise. And in some Sangiovese vineyards in the vicinity of the sea - e.g. Morellino, Marche and on the banks of Romagna - you can smell aromatic waves of tea, thyme, marjoram and pine forest.
