Cabernet Franc

DNA analysis has shown that this grape is well ahead of an impressive pedigree: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Carmenère, for example, are the offspring of Cabernet Franc. The grape’s roots would lie in the Basque Country.

The Cabernet Franc is sometimes even described as a "feminine" version of the Cabernet Sauvignon, because of the subtle nose. It lends itself especially for blended wines, to which it always gives a certain restraint.

Wine from and with Cabernet Franc, can be combined with many dishes such as roast chicken, pork, roasted or grilled beef, duck, sausage, lamb and seafood dishes. Everything is possible.
