Roero

The Piedmont region has long been in the shadow of more famous neighbouring areas such as Barolo and Barbaresco. This is now gradually changing, thanks to young winemakers. And a good thing too, because this region has a unique, accessible charm.

The Roero is mainly associated with white wines, the Arneis in the lead. However, red wine is also produced here, on the basis of the Nebbiolo grape. In the Roero you are on the other side of the river Tanaro. The vineyards have steeper slopes, but the hilltops are less high than in Serralunga or Treiso. You can aldready drink the Nebbiolo here at a young age. Yet it ages nicely, with up to 20 years of ageing potential.
